Week 71: Merry Christmas!

Cousin Jeremy's House!
Hey Mom!

It was really good to talk to you too! I dont know why, but talking to you, the fam and the Parsons didnt make me feel weird at all! haha.

The video is turning out really good! I'll send you a copy when I'm done.

Thats crazy that the winter storm is so intense! I hope Cali gets some snow or something! ;) haha. We may have to go to Palomar mountain and check for snow there! Sounds like the post-Christmas activities were a lot of fun though!

There's not much to report here. Edson Range was good, we set a couple dates for next week, but the baptism for yesterday got canceled... The guy wants to be baptized with his family there... I hope he still goes through with it... I taught a guy who only has one week left at Edson, and said he'd be willing to be baptized, and I asked him about next week, and he said yes! I just need to teach him a ton next week before his baptism! haha

Dinner with PK and SK went well! We got to meet their kids and their spouses. It was interesting being a part of their family dinner because they were like anyone elses family dinners! haha. We had a second dinner with some members of our ward, at the end of it all the wife was all like "well, I've been sharing the gospel with 3 of my neighbors and it seems to me like they all have potential. I just want to help them be baptized!" (not exactly that, but basically haha) So, it's just another testimony to me that this ward is awesome!! :)

I love you a ton and am so blessed to have you as my mom! :) Thanks for all that you do! Have a great week!

Week 70: 20th Birthday!

Hi Mom!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I took a video of me opening all my birthday presents;) I love everything! Thanks so much!

I'm sure Jeremy already got in contact with you. I'll be over there from like 11-2. We are eating an early dinner with PK and SK after that. So anywhere around there would work. I'm sure you already got that figured out;)

It was cool to see the video of the family!

Soooooooo I guess I'll talk to you in a few days! :)

Love you!

Week 69: TIWI's

Hi Mom!

This week was pretty eventful! We got the TIWIs installed to our cars, and they aren't that bad. It just tells me to check my speed all the time... And I am still almost always the slowest car out there! But for the most part, the missionaries are handling it well. Se we had a zone conference on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the TIWIs, then we stayed up really late Thursday night to start and and finish two trainings for MLC on Friday. I'm pretty sure I got like less than half the hour of sleep I should have this past week... haha. But I'm good now;) Yesterday we had a really good day at Edson Range! There are a lot of really cool guys who want to be baptized! The only thing is that because of Christmas we cannot have any baptisms there until the 27th! I interviewed a recruit who was crying as he said the final closing prayer because of how much he wanted to be baptized! We thought he was going to be baptized that day, but he'll have to wait until the 27th... There are a couple more recruits that are ready now, but they'll have to wait a couple weeks... At least it's not super long. Another really cool thing that happened was our investigator, Charmaine (who we've never met or really talked to), called us up and told us how she's been in New England visiting a sick family member and she's been teaching her friend about the gospel and now her friend wants to be baptized too! So she's not even a member and is going around sharing the gospel with all her friends! She wants to be baptized the 26th too! Gosh, this is going to be good! :)

It's always good to experience some change here and there. And the next few weeks sound like they will be about as busy as mine! It's a good time of year, but things are often quite hectic! Thats good that you are keeping busy though!

As far as my plans for my birthday go, I think it'll be like any other day. I haven't heard about the office being closed, but I can imagine that'd be the case, so you dont have to worry about sending a cake! haha. Thanks though! :) It is weird to think that I am not going to be a teenager, yet not an adult... I'll have one year of limbo;) haha.

I could use another sd card. I have like 150 pictures/videos on my current one! haha

I will let you know on the plans for Christmas next week. Right now, I got nothing... Thanks for all your help, love and support! I love you!

Week 68: Transfers --San Elijo Hills

The AP's --E. Smith (home now), EF2, E. Green (home now), E. Arellano
Hi Mom!

The area is great! The members are super stoked to have us and they are really willing to work with us and help us out! There are a few who are all like "Ok, what did we do wrong that you elders had to come into our ward?" haha. They are just joking, but still wondering at the same time. Sister Rush's daughter and son-in-law are in this ward too! They are great! There are just a lot of really solid members here! And the primary is HUGE! There's like over 100 kids in primary! Talk about building up Zion! I am sure they will be down to build up Zion through missionary work as well! All the members love us so far! This is one of the most missionary-friendly wards I've been in! So that's good! And also, there are a lot of ties I have to this ward already!
We went to the ward Christmas activity on Saturday and got to meet like half the ward personally! Everything went well and we got to leave a good first impression! All that's left is to get the ball rolling, find some families, teach them and baptize them!! It's going to be so great!
We had a baptism yesterday at Edson, and set a few more dates! Elder Arellano likes it a lot too! The YSA Elders help us out there, and one of them is training right now. It's really good for the greenie to see what a humble person is really like and what an elect person acts like too! It still amazes me how humble these recruits are! I am striving to become more humble because of them! But Edson has no activity with anyone but the base. It's like the MTC, but more strict, and the military. I'm sure once they become marines they will be able to get involved in Institute.

We start transfer planning the very end of week 5.

I actually don't get to use my Spanish very much at all here. Only to yard workers! I still feel like my Spanish is pretty good though. E.A doesn't speak any Spanish. Only his Grandparents speak it. And PK can speak a little bit, but doesn't hardly ever speak it. I am going to be training in a couple transfers anyways, so I'll be good ;) haha

I don't think the TIWIs are going to change the amount of driving we do in the mission. Honestly, missionaries will probably want to drive less! I will know by tomorrow!

The video is coming along. I will be getting a lot of footage this coming week. So far, I think it's going to be really sweet! I dont know if you ever saw the Christmas video from last year, but it was really funny and energetic, but this years is going to be light, and actually quite motivational! I am really excited for it!

Christmas time will be really fun! I am thinking I probably wont be able to skype at Jeremy's, but we'll see. I think this ward will treat us really well this year! :) I am glad everything is going well at home! Thanks for all you to! You're the best, Mom!! I love you and hope all goes well for you this coming week!
